Dan Patch was a world-renowned harness racing horse who set numerous speed records during his career in the early 1900s. He was owned by M.W. Savage, a prominent businessman and founder of the town of Savage, Minnesota. The Dan Patch Historical Society in Savage offers visitors the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating life of this legendary horse and his owner, as well as the early history of the town.
Each year, Savage hosts the Dan Patch Days festival to celebrate the legacy of the famous harness racing horse, Dan Patch.
